Description

Since 1991 "Toms" has been run as a production based prime lamb operation where business aims is to maximise kilograms of meat produced per hectare as efficiently as possible meeting market specifications. To this end 1200 first cross ewes (all of one line) are joined annually with an average carrying capacity of 3.75 ewes/acre or 20 DSE/Ha.
Situated in a temperate and picturesque coastal environment approximately midway between Portland and Port Fairy in 700-800mm rainfall country. "Toms" offers 13 mostly 20 acre paddocks strategically designed with a central laneway leading to a 2 stand raised board woolshed and undercover yards (800 sheep capacity). There has been a long term focus on pastures and fertility. Modern standard of living is well catered for with a four bedroom brick home with a renovated kitchen and bathroom set in tranquil and picturesque garden surrounds.
