Top Price: $3800
Average Price: $1968
The Burnbrae Poll Merino on-farm ram sale exceeded expectation set by vendors Alan and Steven Wishart, as buyers snapped up 54 of the 65 rams offered at the inaugural event.
Lot D fetched a top price of $3800 with an overall average price of $1968.
The snap lockdown was unable to deter buyers with the sale being conducted in conjunction with AuctionsPlus online. This allowed one buyer from Branxholme to purchase 18 rams following inspection.
Prospective buyers were given the opportunity to visit Burnbrae earlier in the month prior to inspect all the rams that were being offered in the sale, a move that paid dividends given the lockdown during the week of the sale.
There were buyers from the western district including Hamilton and Cavendich, as well as plenty of local interest with rams heading to the Ballarat and Geelong regions.
