Rural Businesses change hands

There’s been a bit happening in the district’s rural business sector with several enterprises changing hands in the first quarter of the year.

The action has been widespread with businesses in Mortlake, Forrest and Barongarook changing ownership.

In the Otways at Barongarook a four-hectare block of land that included a 2.2 hectare vineyard of predominantly pinot and chardonnay grape varieties, and tourism accommodation business sold.

And further down the road at what is fast becoming a mountain bike hot spot in the Otways at Forrest, the Terminus Hotel in Station Street and the former Bespoke restaurant in the town’s main street also have new owners.

In Mortlake a large factory and land site offered for sale has sold to an organic cheese and dairy manufacturer.
